EAKRING PARISH COUNCIL

     Minutes of a meeting of the Parish Council held on

Wednesday 20th March 2017 at 7.30p.m in the Cator Hall.

Present:Mr R Brown (Acting Chairman), Mr R Howes, Mrs S Wilson, Mr J Sweeney, Cllr L Tift (NSDC).

1.Councillors’ Declarations of Interest:

1.1 Mr Sweeney declared an interest in item 2.1.

2.:Planning:

2.1: Application No.16/01745/FUL

       Land at Ashcroft  (North of Cherry view)

       Bilsthorpe Road, Eakring.

       Appeal against refusal of planning application.

Councillors’ heard that the Planning Inspectorate had informed the Parish Council that an appeal had been lodged against the refusal of the above planning application and that Mr James Meanley was applying for an award of costs against the Parish Council.The Clerk explained that the Parish Council had 7 days to respond to the Planning Inspectorate.

 

The Clerk  gave details of conversations that he had held with NSDC Insurance Department. NALC and Mr James Mountain(A Planning Officer in NSDC Planning Dept dealing with this issue for the District Council)  and explained their advice and showed Emails he had received.

 

Cllr Tift was invited to share her views on the issue.

 

The Parish Council discussed matters raised by the documents received from the Planning Inspectorate. The Parish Council concluded that they believed the comments they had submitted to o Newark and Sherwood District Council for the original planning application were reached reasonably and appropriately and they would seek to defend the claim for costs submitted by Mr Meanley.

 

The Parish Council instructed the Clerk to compose, and then send, a holding letter to the Planning Inspectorate informing it that they would be challenging the  claim for an award of costs against it and be offering detailed evidence to show the validity of its comments.
