A meeting of the Parish Council following the Annual Parish Meeting and the Annual Parish Council Meeting on Wednesday 12th May 2010 in the Cator Hall

The minutes of the meeting held on 14th April were read.  It was proposed by Mrs S Wilson, seconded by Mr R Brown and agreed unanimously that these be signed as a true record.


Matters Arising

  1. Proposed green waste bin scheme – Mrs Curry explained details of this scheme which NSDC hoped to introduce in April 2011.  Leaflets would be distributed to each household in the village in the near future.
  2. Planning anomalies – the PC discussed and sympathised with parishioners over a number of apparent anomalies between policy and practice at District Council level particularly in relation to planning.  The Chairman of the PC said that she hoped to meet the leader of NSDC in the near future to gain clarification on a number of issues.
  3. Bus shelter- it was noted that this new structure still has barriers round it and is unsafe to use.  A reply is expected from those in charge of erecting the shelter tomorrow.
  4. Hedge cutting, debris on roads – it was noted that Cllr Stewart had agreed to look into the NCC aspect of this matter.


County/District Councillors

There were no county or district councillors in attendance.



  1. NCC Local Improve Move Scheme Initiative Launch Event Tuesday 15th June invitation.  The PC decided to reserve two places.
  2. Clean Neighbourhoods Environment Act 2005 Newark and Sherwood District Dog Control Orders – Notice of orders that came into force 7 April 2010.

Cator Hall

Mr Brown reported on an upcoming work day and invited any PC’s and parishioners to attend.  He said future fund raisers included a barbecue.  One project the Committee hoped to tackle soon was a new kitchen.


Recreation Ground

Mrs Curry outlined plans to develop the recreation ground into a Community Park in stages.



The first half of the Precept has arrived in the PC funds.


Any Other Business

  1. The PC considered presently how parishioners were made aware of Planning Applications relating to properties in Eakring.  Alternative proposals were debated.
  2. It was noted that the interactive speed sign had now been removed from Main Street.  It was decided to see if time could be arranged for it to be placed on Kirklington Road.


There being no further business the meeting closed at 9.15pm.
