A meeting of the Parish Council took place on Wednesday February 14th 2007 at 7.30pm in Cator Hall



Mr D Walker, Mr R Neale, Mrs M Curry, Mr D Brozyna, Mrs M Stokes, Mr F Cooper and 1 parishioner.

The minutes of the meeting held on Tuesday December 5th were read.  It was proposed by Mr R Neale,
seconded by Mrs M Curry and agreed unanimously that these be signed as a true record.


Matters Arising

  1. The bench made by Mr J Meanley is now in place at Mompesson Cross.
  2. The clerk reported the missing Triumph Road sign.  Other road signs – chevrons, pedestrians and Eakring sign missing again. 
    Clerk to report.
  3. Speedwatch.  The speed guns were used in December and again in January.  Three people are required at a time in order
    to ensure sufficient clearly recorded details are obtained for those vehicles travelling too fast.
  4. Neighbourhood Watch  Paul Doucet and David Mawer have agreed to investigate exactly what would be involved to resurrect
    the scheme.

  1. Mobile Rural Contact.  New vehicle and police officer awaited.  Service to be relaunched in Spring.
  2. Nottinghamshire County Councils resolution supporting improved two-tier structures (Local Government White Paper).
  3. Review of the Quality Town and Parish Council Scheme.
  4. Consultation on Amendments to the Model Code of Conduct for Local Authority Members.
  5. Receipt from Nottingham Archives for additional deposit of Minute Book April 1980 – October 1986 and receipt and payment book April 1959 – April 1986.
  6. Notice of Examination in Public of the Draft East Midlands Regional Plan (starts May 22nd).
  7. Thank you letter from Cator Hall Management Committee re precepted amount and proposed amount from District Councillors towards disabled access.
  8. Brochure – Enjoy England Celebrate St George’s Day.
  9. Pack from EON containing example of useful items to be kept in case of power cuts.
  10. Letter from Councillor B Laughton re gated roads.  Councillor Laughton reported that the appeal re Tenters Lane, Mill Lane will not be heard for 3 – 4 years.
  11. Dog Control Orders.  As and when equipment is installed on the playing field, a control order may be necessary and will be introduced as appropriate.

Cator Hall

Cupboards to be moved into storeroom to relinquish space for disabled toilet.  Carmalor asked to quote for installation of disabled access.  There will be a working day on 15th April to continue outside work.  Probation service no longer available.  Estimate required to re-render wall.  Oil tank to be replaced.  Films to start 24th March with ‘The Queen’.


Councillor Andy Stewart announced he would give £300 towards the cost of disabled access from his Good Causes Fund.


Recreation Ground

Quotes required for mowing in 2007.  NCC and others to be asked.
